Washington, DC (March 10, 2013)—The The National Parking Association is a proud co-sponsor of the Parking Industry Exhibition (PIE), taking place March 10-13 in Chicago, Ill.

PIE, sponsored by Parking Today, features more than 40 seminars and nearly 100 regional and national exhibitors. NPA will be exhibiting at Booth 402. According to John Van Horn, editor and publisher of Parking Today. “Attendees come to PIE for the educational programs. PIE is about networking and learning about new technologies.” NPA members are presenting numerous sessions, including these especially for PIE:
On Sunday, March 10, NPA Parking Consultants Council (PCC) Chair “Chuck” Cullen, CAPP, CPP, presents Parking Boot Camp. For his 3-hour seminar, Cullen brings in experts in technology, marketing, revenue control and auditing to give those with less than five years (and others who feel the need for a refresher) a good basis on which to build their careers. An experienced parking operator and administrator, Cullen has extensive experience managing off-street and on-street parking.
Following the Boot Camp, Cullen will co-present Command General Staff - Parking Information for Senior Management with Steve Rebora, president of DESMAN Associates, and an NPA PCC member. This session has been expanded to include senior managers who may not have direct parking responsibility.
On Monday, March 11, NPA Chairman Jeff Wolfe, president of The Car Park, Boise, Idaho, will present Selecting an Operator – They Are Not a Commodity. As an operator and an owner, Wolfe will provide valuable insight into operator selection to ensure value.
Also on March 11, NPA President Christine Banning Christine Banning, CAE, will present Your Career in Parking: Knowledge, Networks, Advancement. Banning will discuss how to grow your parking career using the same techniques used in many other career paths, as well as how to communicate clearly and grow your personal brand.
On Tuesday, March 12, NPA member Alan Lazowski, chairman, CEO and founder of LAZ Parking, will present Private Public Partnerships – PPP with Sarah Blouch and David Teed of QIC. The presentation will cover how P3 partnerships affect long-term planning and public policy.
