Washington, DC (October 11, 2013)— The National Parking Association (NPA) hosted the Valet Olympics at NPA’s 2013 Convention & Expo in Chicago, IL. The Valet Olympics took place October 9-10 at the Hyatt McCormick Place.
The National Valet Olympics is an international skills competition representing valet parking teams from the private, showcasing the professionalism and skills of front-line employees serving parkers across North America.
This year, eight competing companies entered the Valet Olympics: AmeriPark, Advanced Parking Concepts, Curbside Hospitality, LAZ Parking, Sunset Parking, Towne Park, Ultimate Hospitality and Universal Parking.
The teams participated in the following events: Key Jumble, Luggage Load, Valet Relay, and Slalom. Individual and team times were recorded. Awards are given out for best overall team performance. In addition, awards are given for best individual valet, best uniforms and best team attitude. This year, the winners were:
The 2013 Valet Olympics were organized by NPA's Valet Council, the Valet Olympics Committee and NPA's Convention Program Planning Committee. The event was sponsored by Toledo Ticket and Towne Park. Valet education at the NPA 2013 Convention was sponsored by Ticketech. The 2013 Valet Olympics Committee Chair was Amanda Cuddy from Ultimate Parking. Ellis Dumont from Advanced Parking Concepts is the Chair of the Valet Parking Council of NPA.
